Celebration 400th
Run
A
motley group of 65 Hashers gathered at a picturesque Hash site on the west
coast of the island. Yes, that’s right 65 – 21 more than our previous record!
We had regulars, visitors, virgins, veterans, including 2 founding members Brainout and Pak Guru, and several Horrors.
The
horn was blasted promptly at 6pm and the LBH3 Run #400 was off. The leaders were soon flummoxed and had everyone
going off in all directions, with the majority following a false trail which
led into water buffalo invested swamps.
This caused some disturbances and those otherwise gentle giants became
somewhat agitated with the sheer numbers of Hashers descending on them. Several of those beasts broke loose from
their dubious chains, which in turn caused several Hashers to do their version
of the 100m
dash at record speed! Bangseat bravely headed the herd off
the last minute to earn the title - Gallant Gentleman of the Night.
While
we didn’t encounter any jungle, we had swamp, rushes & reeds, seawalls,
beach, small roads, a fishing boat harbour and scenic views to the west. To cap this, the Hares, Lynbinrogered, Inspect her Fuzz and Cunning Stunt installed a Hash Halfway House with colourful refreshments
for the weary Harriers. At this point,
there might have been some Hashers who decided to take the offered short cut,
whilst the stalwarts continued to follow the trail to the bitter end. Back at the Beer Truck, all the weary runners
were handed a Celebratory 400 T shirt, the design of which is thanks to Fowl F**ker
, who was awarded a free run. Thanks, also, to Oedipussy, Boring Bitch
and Finish for their contributions
to making the T shirts actually happen.
With
so many at the circle, the GM, the old timer, Fowl F**ker, had his job cut out.
Following the scramble for Executioners, Small Ball Cock, Upper and
Mini Mee were given the task. Double
Dutch was called in as Stand In GM to help keep
the rabble rousers under control.
Returners, Visitors and Virgins were duly dealt with. Fiddler
on the Reef and Second Fiddle
were named. FRBs and LRBs were ridiculed
and founding members, Brainout and Pak Guru, were acknowledged for their
long running contribution to the LBH3.
The
On On was held at Coco Beach where the 400 celebrations continued. The Horrors took to the beach and the
regulars got tucked in to the local fare. The Hares continued their marvellous job
and presented awards
to the FRBs and LRBs. They had baked two delicious chocolate cakes, which the
founding members were given the honour of cutting up. The party continued with a few daring Hashers
taking to the dance floor! The Rain Gods had been appeased during the run and
early evening but made their presence known as everyone was winding up – great
timing!
Small Ball Cock and Cunning Stunt are the hares for Run 401 on Oct 31st.
Guising
enthusiastic welcome – for those not in the know, that’s anyone who wants to
dress up :-) The GM omitted to round up a GM for the 401th run, volunteers
anyone?
An
