Langkawi Beach Hash run #374

SCRIBE REPORT

Salman Rushdie wouldn’t do it (too controversial a subject) and neither would Enid Blyton (prefers lashings of ginger beer to Tiger) so it has fallen to me to be your scribe for this run-so here goes….

31 hashers assembled eagerly awaiting the On-On at the clearing opposite the RLYC at 5.30 pm last Friday 19th October to see what the hares had in store for us. 14 hashers had done less than 3 runs and there were 7 returners including Semen, Ayam, Horny, Finish, Second Hand, Swinger & Fowl Fukka but all managed to get back in one piece for the Down-Down, but I am getting ahead of myself….

There were hash shirts & hats for sale but no hash alarm clocks which might have been useful for the trio of Cunning Stunt, Tartan Tart & Small Ballcock who managed to miss the start of the run. They were duly brought into the circle at the Down-Down by the GM for appropriate punishment by the executioner. This was however topped by Katoi & Sticky Tits who missed the start of the dinner! But we love them all and it’s easy game for the GM & Executioner!

Horny & Finish had to christen their new shoes-guess they are not needed in Chagos-but got away with only a dribble of Carlsberg in each. Then off everybody went, the athletic youngsters dashing off chasing the yellow ribbon & flour trail up the road towards the Westin/Sheraton Perdana and around the woods, generally wearing themselves out while the experienced hands kept up a steady pace. The trail went hot & cold a few times (anyone seen any monkeys wearing yellow ribbons?) and there were some interesting attempts to cross a drain channel. The experienced hashers sensed the end of the trail was near & headed up over the hill for the finish. Final result:-Swinger came first followed by Semen!

The GM had a hard time with the circle which wasn’t very round at first and it seemed that the 8 virgins just couldn’t wait to be initiated! The enthusiasm of youth! Names were given to Alison (Feet All Fungus) and Amanda (Wild Wicked Bush)-what chemicals do the brewers put in the beer these days?

A prize for mediocrity was handed  out to a newcomer, Humphrey.

Congrats to Corny Knob & Corny Nibblet though for organizing a fun run followed by an excellent meal at the RLYC.

Next run is November 2nd with hares Cunning Stunt, Tartan Tart & Small Ballcock!

One last thing-there is another Mismanagement Committee Meeting at Silver Sands on Friday 26th October for those who would like to attend.
